FAQ

Q: How often should I use IronXtract?

A: The main purpose for using IronXtract is the chemical removal of sharp, ferrous metal contamination that embeds itself into paintwork and other surfaces. This type of corrosive metal shrapnel is derived from brake dust and typically builds up over months. Hence on a daily driven car we would recommend using IronXtract on exterior paintwork and glass every 3-6 months. For wheels where the concentration of brake dust is much heavier we would recommend using IronXtract once a month.

Q: Which part of the detailing process should I use IronXtract?

A: IronXtract is part of the decontamination process of a detail and takes place after a shampoo and before a clay bar decontaminate removal. It is done as part of the process to ensure all decontaminants are removed from the paintwork prior to a polish / paint correction process.

Q: Should I be using IronXtract on my wheels as part of my weekly maintenance washes?

A: No. For wheels on a daily driven car a weekly usage of IronXtract is not recommended. IronXtract is not designed for regular maintenance washes. For maintenance washes of wheels either AlloyXtreme or AlloyPristine are suitable based on your requirements and wheels.

Q: Can I use IronXtract on my car wrap?

A: No as the solution may seep through gaps and get under the wrap and consequently cause it to lift.

Q: Why does IronXtract turn purple?

A: The active ingredients in IronXtract turn purple as they react with iron particles on your vehicle. This reaction allows the particles to safely loosen away from the vehicle surface to then be easily rinsed away.
